Davis Islands Landmark Store Closes

The moving trucks have come and gone. The last of the stylish clothing packed up and moved, the tanning booths and massage tables up for sale on Craig list for the last few weeks.
After 12 years, Julie Tate has closed her shop in the Davis Islands village. She tells DI Buzz, it’s time for a new chapter. Her DI Body and Boutique store has been a staple for island shoppers. From facials to spray tans to trendy pirate fashion and accessories.
Julie and the owner of Ruby’s Cottage, who shared space in the Di Boutique building, plan to relocate to 3312 Bay to Bay Blvd and operate as Ruby’s Cottage. Tate plans to offer tanning services both at the new location and personal mobile tanning service as well.
The DI Body and Boutique location housed Red Rabitt Video Rentals and Tatebuster Video Rental, before finally settling into ladies fashions. Tate invites anyone to call her with questions at (813) 220-2278.
There is no word on what may be replacing the boutique. This becomes the second vacant store front in the village this year. Glass Reunions closed earlier this year. Word ion the street is a botox and skin care business is planning to open there in the coming months.
