The ozone monitoring station on Davis Islands is showing higher than normal levels, and the county EPC is getting the word out.

An air quality advisory went into effect April 23 at 5PM, and continues through today with conditions expecting to get even worse.

The Air Quality Index is now stands at 101. Values ranging from 101 – 150 are considered unhealthy for people sensitive to elevated ozone conditions.

The county says in a prepared release, “The outlook is… conditions are likely to persist, with more elevated ozone levels expected. Individuals with pre-existing respiratory ailments, the elderly or the very young may want to take this into consideration when planning any outside activities.”
